Each year, we look forward to a fun season of outdoor adventure on the water for youth ages 5 – 17 during the summer. The programs are open to sailors of all skill levels. Sessions are one week each, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, with certified instructors.
We welcome all young sailors to learn the basics of sailing through adventure sailing and racing on a variety of boats owned by the Center. Weekly sessions are on a “first come, first served” basis.

Our primary goal is that students learn and grow from this experience; therefore, it is important that your child is placed in the correct skill level. See class descriptions below:
Homeschoolers Clinic – This class is our learn to sail “crash course” provided for Homeschool students in our community. It is designed for those who have little to no sailing experience. This class is also an excellent option for returning sailors with experience looking to increase their comfort and confidence on the water. In this class we focus on the basics and fundamentals, and spend most of our time on the water sailing and having fun. The ideal age for this class is 7-12 and 13-17 years old.
Little Skippers – This class is designed to get our youngest sailors comfortable on a sailboat and on the water. The goal is to have fun while building a foundation for future sailing opportunities. The ideal age for this class is 5-8 years old.
Sailing 101 – This class is our learn to sail “crash course”. It is designed for those who have little to no sailing experience. This class is also an excellent option for returning sailors with experience looking to increase their comfort and confidence on the water. In this class we focus on the basics and fundamentals, and spend most of our time on the water sailing and having fun. The ideal age for this class is 9-12 and 13-17 years old.
Sailing 102 – This class is designed for sailors with some experience looking to further develop their sailing skills. This class focuses on gaining confidence and independence on the water. Participants must have successfully completed the Sailing 101 assessment. The ideal age for this class is 9-12 and 13-17 years old.
Adventure – This class is designed for experienced sailors who want to explore cruising skills and spend more time enjoying sailing. Specific cruising skills may include weather forecasting, anchoring, navigational aids, and overboard recovery. The ideal age for this class is 9-12 and 13-17.
Race Week – This class is designed for experienced sailors who want to explore and advance their racing skills. Participants will be invited to participate in the Marathon Mixer in the Middle Regatta 2026 at the end of the week, on July 11th! The ideal age for this class is 9-12 and 13-17.
Camp is led by KWCSC Program Director Savannah Welton and our sailing instructors. Our instructors are certified by US Sailing. They have instructed on a variety of boats, in private lessons, and class environments. Sailing Center leadership is dedicated to safety, fun and learning.
All registrations are now online – To sign up, click the link in the Schedule below for the session you would like your sailor to attend and follow the instructions (up to three children can be registered at the same time for the same class). If the class is fully booked, you can complete the application to be added to a waitlist. You will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
